Today at the CMC “Kiro Gligorov” in Shtip was held a meeting organized by the State Institute for Industrial Property and Municipality of Shtip, on the occasion of the commemoration of the month of Industrial Property and it is happening in Shtip.

The Mayor of Municipality Shtip, Blagoj Bochvarski opened the event together with the deputy Director of SIIP, Goran Gerasimovski.

„As a Mayor of Municipality Shtip whose territory has many legal entities and industrial capacities, I consider that the topics in the field of industrial property are always important and interesting for the public, especially for creative and innovative owners who deserve protection of their products.

I would like to emphasize that we all need to invest more in the area of strengthening of intellectual property rights. I am convinced that in order to succeed that, it is necessary for us as a country to enter the European Union. The European Union has already provided funds in the height of 1,3 million euros for the project “Strengthening the implementation of intellectual property rights”.

With our membership in EU and by that we will become an equal member of this great and powerful family, I am convinced that the capacity will be further built and the public awareness in the field of realization and protection of intellectual property rights will increase, and of course further harmonization of the national legislation with the EU legislation will be ensured.

We are working hard to integrate our country into the European and Euro-Atlantic family. With the entrance of Macedonia in EU, we will strengthen operational capacities of our services to fight against violation of the rights to non-commercial property in accordance with their legal competences.

The benefits are enormous, and we as citizens need to make the final decision so that we can benefit and have a high standard of functioning of institutions and protection of domestic industrial capacities, and therefore a high standard and quality of everyday living of each of our citizens.
